Shiny new dog poop bag dispenser

For as long as I’ve been visiting or living at Waikawa Beach there has been a boxy green dog poop bag dispenser on the fence at the Manga Pirau Street beach entrance. Back in 2013 it was very fresh and new looking, but in recent weeks it was literally held together with string (and perhaps chewing gum, but I didn’t check).

As of 30 March 2022 though (I pulled out the first bag), there’s a shiny new dispenser that matches all the other dispensers around Waikawa Beach.

And, as a possible hint to dog owners, it’s been moved to be right next to the rubbish bin. Thanks Horowhenua District Council Animal Control for the new, high capacity, dispenser. Dog owners: please use it well.
